OUR PROGRAMMES

Our primary objectives for the Kliptown Community are various and have grown with the project and our capacities.

First and foremost, we have to empower our very smallest and older learners to have a real chance to succeed in school and to finish Matric. Personal potential often depends on learning environments and a little help when needed. In our Crèche and After Care programme, we intend to provide the nutrition, teaching, recreation and individual support necessary to develop personal skills to their maximum potential. This is the basis on which future role models can flourish.

In view of the reality of our Community, poverty, HIV/Aids, abuse, teenage-pregnancy and sometimes very difficult family situations lead to a great need to look after orphaned and/or vulnerable children. Giving them shelter, love, food, education – a place where they belong – is another of our main objectives.

Furthermore, we need to continue to assist the families and adult Community of Kliptown as much as possible. Giving parents the chance to drop off their pre-school children at our Crèche gives them better work possibilities. Elderly and ill persons as much as families in dire need can rely on the Centre for food supply and cooked meals. If available, small job opportunities are given to Community members. In exchange, Little Rose Centre relies on the helping hands of its beneficiaries whenever needed.

The sustainability of all the programmes put in place in our Centre is of greatest importance and a primary objective in itself.
